I read some reviews of this book and was disappointed that more didn't like it. I know there were flaws in Daisy's character. She did what she thought best. When Stephen dies, she goes back home to tell Jack about Nathan. But, Jack doesn't want anything from her. Doesn't want to read the letter that Stephen wrote as he was dying or to have Daisy back in town. But life goes on. When Nathan stops by his father's garage, Jack seems to know instinctively that he is the boy's father. Not because he looks like Jack, but because he looks like Jack's father. A spitting image of his father. Jack confronts Daisy and is so terribly mad that he tells her he is going to be her worst nightmare. He wants to keep Nathan close. He doesn't want Nathan from going back to Seattle. He wants the past to disappear. But, he finally admits that he wants Daisy. Rachael's books do not disappoint. I will keep buying her books as long as she writes.

Daisy Back In Town Rachel Gibson 9780755334032 Books Reviews

Everyone has that special someone who was their everything. Some times fate intervenes and you don't have a happily ever after.

Jack and Daisy missed HEA the first time.

This is their story the second time around. It's full of southern charm and small town humor.

Rachel Gibson is one of my favorite all time authors. Whenever I need a "pick me up," I love to re-read her stories. They are guaranteed to make you laugh out loud and squeeze your heart a bit.
I like Rachel Gibson as an author, but DAISY'S BACK IN TOWN is not her best work; far from it.
Ms. Gibson usually writes romances that sizzle. There are a few themes that run through one or more of her books; for example, LOLA CARLYLE REVEALS ALL had tones of SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE. Still, these two stories each were unique. In contrast, DAISY is a mish-mash of devices that have worked for this author in the past, thrown together here in the apparent hope that these will coalesce into a good plot.
Want to read about two kids who had had crushes on each other once-upon-a-time and finally are reunited as adults? Her book TRULY MADLY YOURS beats DAISY any day. And for a story about a girl who "forgot" to tell the father of their baby that they had become parents, Ms. Gibson's SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE is the best.
As for the woman returning after decades to her hometown, Susan Elizabeth Phillips tops anything that Rachel Gibson has written in Ms. Phillips' new novel, AIN'T SHE SWEET.
Yet all of these elements show up in DAISY'S BACK IN TOWN, and with far less success than in their first airings.
In DAISY, the conflicts are revealed too easily, resolved too quickly--and even too happily. Despite the obvious fact that this is a genre that requires a happy ending, the conclusion of DAISY just is too pat. Although the genre actually requires sexual conflict that concludes in great passion, Ms. Gibson could have phoned in these love scenes. It almost seems as if her editor begrudged her the space to explore the story fully.
Rachel Gibson has done her previously-excellent reputation no service with DAISY'S BACK IN TOWN. Do yourself a favor and read one of her earlier novels instead.
I love Rachel's books, and this is one in a series in Lovett, TX that I've reread several times. I'm from a small town, so maybe that's why her writing and books resonates so well with me. But this story about Daisy who returns to town is really sweet and is a true story of redemption and second chances. No one's totally in the right and no one is totally in the wrong... everyone had a part in making the past mistakes and now there's a chance to fix them. I wanted to kick Daisy at times for not hurrying up and doing what she came to town to do, but I can certainly understand her hesitation with Jack's attitude. And her family--who wouldn't love them! All in all Rachel keeps delivering top-notch romance with steamy scenes and heart-melting emotions. Thanks!
I read most of Rachel Gibson's stuff. I was SO annoyed with this young love romance that I couldn't stop reading and had to find out if he could forgive her. I am not certain I could have been so understanding. What a mess they made of things when they were 18! There was not really anything extraordinary about Daisy, but Jack loved her in spite of all the messy things so it was a good read.
I chose this rating because this is a 5 star book. After reading the ratings I was wondering if Rachel can write a book that people just didn't like. I don't know what they don't like about it, its a great story. Its got a little of everything in it. Tears, laughs and I even got mad at the the main male character (Jack). I don't like those books that people fall right into bed together and that's all the book is about. This is not like that and that is a main reason I like Rachel's books. She tells a story with a beginning middle and end. Its not telling the same thing over and over in just different ways. There is two books the first one is Crazy on you and i suggest you read it first but its not really necessary. These are stories about two sisters lives. and I liked one as much as I like the other book.

I would recommend this book to anyone and be totally honest when I say I don't think Rachel Gibson can write a bad book.
